This course focuses on mindset rather than drawing technique. It eliminates the fear of the blank canvas and teaches how to organize visual chaos into a clear, aesthetic, and readable design. The word "abstract" here means that students learn to look past micro-details (like bolts, straps, or rivets) and focus instead on the underlying geometric forces.
Week-by-Week Breakdown (Approximate):
- Week 1: Shape Language. How basic shapes (circles, squares, triangles) are subconsciously perceived by the viewer. Creating an object's character (friendly, dangerous, monumental) using nothing but its silhouette.
- Week 2: Composition and Proportions (Big, Medium, Small). The golden rule of design. Students learn to avoid visual monotony, properly distribute details, and leave "resting areas" for the viewer's eyes.
- Week 3: Rhythm and Contrast. Creating dynamics within a static object. How guiding lines lead the viewer's eye to the focal point. Balancing hard and soft shapes, as well as straight and curved lines.
- Weeks 4–5: Applying Theory to Practice. Transferring abstract principles to actual industry tasks (designing environmental elements, props, vehicles, or character costumes). Mastering graphic weight and shape balance.
