Create 3D Music Videos with Your Own Characters in Unity

3DCG Creator Nonolu

Learn how to create complete 3D music videos in Unity from the ground up with Nonolu, a 3DCG creator specializing in music videos for VTubers.
From setting up Unity and importing your first character to designing fantastical stages, animating facial expressions, directing cameras, and exporting the finished video, this class guides you through the entire process step by step.
Even if you've never used Unity before, you'll learn how to bring your characters to life and create polished 3D music videos of your own.

Build Professional-Looking 3D Music Videos from Scratch

3DCG creator Nonolu has produced music videos for numerous VTubers and is known for expressive character animation, natural movement, cinematic camera work, and atmospheric environments.
Drawing on her own experience learning Unity independently, Nonolu breaks down the techniques she uses in real projects and explains them in a way that beginners can follow.
Start by learning the essential Unity interface, tools, packages, and asset-import workflow.
Then move into stage creation using Terrain, lighting, fog, materials, props, effects, and particle systems to create environments with greater depth and atmosphere.
Once your stage is ready, you'll learn how to animate characters through Timeline, adjust existing motions, create finger movements, direct cameras with Cinemachine, and build expressive facial animation.
Finally, refine your video with practical production techniques such as material adjustments, object interaction, reflections, effects, recording, and final encoding.
By the end of the class, you'll understand the complete workflow required to turn a 3D character and an empty Unity scene into a finished music video.

Instructor

3DCG Creator Nonolu

Hello, I'm Nonolu, a freelance 3D artist specializing in music videos for VTubers.
I'm entirely self-taught in 3DCG, and Unity became the starting point for my professional work. To date, I've created more than 100 music videos.
Many people assume that creating a 3D music video in Unity requires years of specialized training.
But when I first started, I was also a complete beginner with no previous experience using Unity.
As tools for animating 3D characters at home have become increasingly accessible, more creators now want to produce music videos featuring their own characters.
That's why I created this course.
Even if you're completely new to Unity, I'll guide you through the entire process of creating a music video from scratch—from understanding the software and building a stage to character animation, facial expressions, camera work, and final export.

Class Highlights

Cinematic Camera Direction That Makes Your Character Look Better

A beautiful environment alone isn't enough.
How you frame and film your character can completely change the impression of your video.
Learn the fundamentals of Cinemachine and discover how camera angle, perspective, framing, and movement influence the way a 3D character appears on screen.
Study which viewpoints make characters more appealing, which angles can create unwanted distortion, and how to create camera animation directly inside Timeline.
Develop camera work that supports both the character and the music video as a whole.

Build Fantastical Stages with Depth & Atmosphere

Learn how to transform an empty Unity scene into an immersive fantasy environment.

Combine:
  • Terrain
  • Trees and vegetation
  • Props
  • Fog
  • Lighting
  • Materials
  • Effects
  • Particle systems
Use multiple layers of light and effects to give your stage greater depth.
Explore ways to communicate not only location, but also atmosphere and even a sense of temperature through environmental design.
