Course Description
Perspective Audit Class Lectures is a 9-video lecture series by Kirk Shinmoto focused on introducing students to perspective drawing for environments. This audit class directly mirrors the same lectures from Kirk Shinmoto’s live classes. The videos follow the same topics covered over the course of 9 weeks and include demos, assignments, and weekly topics. The in-class homework critique recordings from the live classes are not included.
The class introduces one-point, two-point, and three-point perspective systems and explains how to use them to create environments. Through weekly drawing assignments, students learn practical ways to apply perspective systems to rooms, corridors, city streets, organic environments, buildings, and larger environment scenes.
Along with technical perspective drawing, the course also touches on composition and design concepts when drawing in perspective. Emphasis is placed on understanding how to relate both people and objects within an environment.
Purchasing the audit class gives students indefinite access to streamed videos through Gumroad. PSD files from the weekly lectures are also available for download.
